Literature Text

In daylight she would play
Running and jumping
Laughing with friends

But at night would she be
In fantasies galore
Seeking treasure,
And traveling to the unknown

At dawn she may say
It is a good time of day
And go off in daytimes chore

But at dusk would she lay
Living legends
And meeting stars long gone

It was there she was happiest
And lived her life in truth

Now she sits in a chair all day long
Writing papers and answering phones

When home she would go
To more stress and bore

No time for old stories
Or to reach beyond the door

At night she sleeps
Forgotten of worries
But no pleasant dreams
She has no more

The dreamer is gone,
Much like childhood leave,
But not lost

For next door is a new hope
A child tangled in warmth
A smile upon his lips
He is the new dreamer
Of long ago
to speed through life is true
for many forget the simple pleasures of childhood
and dreamers will one day stop dreaming
